Protein for cyclists and endurance athletes

What supplements and nutritions you use depends on the activities that you do. Most bodybuilders know that with an intensive training regime you should consume sufficient amounts of protein. But what about endurance athletes, who often adapt their diet to their energy needs and thus mostly take in carbohydrates? The men of GCN, a popular YouTube channel for bicycle enthusiasts, have this sorted out for you, and made a movie about it.

This clip tells us that endurance athletes should take in between 1.5 to 3 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, depending on the intensity of your exercise routine. For instance, if you weigh 70kg then that's somewhere between 100g and 200g. The quality of the protein is also very important and you should aim to get it from meats or fish such as turkey, chicken or salmon. We recommend to complete your dietary protein supplement with SSN Cytoguard to protect muscle fiber synthesis.
